William "Bill" Smith, RFC

Retirement expert, William A. Smith, is the President of W.A. Smith Financial Group and the Chief Advisor of Great Lakes Retirement, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor. He specializes in the fields of retirement income, wealth preservation, and estate planning. He has helped hundreds of individuals retire successfully using principals he established in his proprietary planning process, the Financial G.P.S. (Guided.Planning.System).  Bill works strictly with retirees who have over $250,000 in investable assets.

Education & Achievements:
Bill graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Business Management. He is a Registered Financial Consultant with the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.   He is a licensed insurance professional and holds a Series 66.  Bill is a Investment Advisor Representative of Great Lakes Retirement, a Registered Investment Advisor.

Bill is constantly sought after by the local and national media.  On a national level, he has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Smart Money Magazine, Yahoo!Finance, AOL Finance, SecondAct.com  and on CBS Channel 19.  Locally, Bill is regularly featured on ABC Channel 5 in Cleveland, and CBS Channel 11 in Toledo as well as the Sandusky Register, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Morning Journal.

Bill hosts a popular radio show titled Retirement Matters where he interviews and debates with the nation’s top industry professionals. He is the author of Knock-Out Your Retirement Income Worries FOREVER: The Ultimate Training Guide for Developing Financial Security.

Family Information:
Bill and his wife Erica have been married since 1995 and have three children, daughter Hallee, and sons Blake and Cameron. The five of them enjoy spending time together as a family, boating on Lake Erie, and supporting each other at numerous sporting events.
